12 Weeks

BTW, those of you here for good food – don’t worry, I’m just catching up for my family’s sake. 🙂 This first trimester is D-O-N-E! Thank goodness! This means, I should be back in the kitchen this week. With a vengeance. 🙂

How far along? 12 weeks 6 days
Total weight gain/loss: 2-3 lbs. Still isn’t budging much at all. I’m thankful though!
Maternity clothes? Not yet and hopefully not for a while! (I did pull out those velour pants though. And my empire waist dresses are making their rounds on dress-up-for-church Sundays.)
Sleep: I’m not quite as tired this week. I’m still on the hormone compounds, so my nausea is still in full force…but I’ll be done with those this week. YAY!
Best moment this week: Telling my family and friends on facebook about the baby. If you missed the awesome video my creative husband made, see it here. 🙂
Have you told family and friends: YES! It was as blast letting them know!
Movement: not yet
Food cravings: chocolate chip cookies and homemade ice cream one day – thus the ice cream sandwiches.
Anything making you queasy or sick: yes! Right now, kinda everything. 😦
Have you started to show yet: Yeeep.

Gender Predictions: still guessing a boy…
Labor Signs: NO
Belly Button in or out? IN
Wedding rings on or off? ON – Still on the right hand too! (That’s my bigger hand, and my rings haven’t been resized since I lost 30 pounds in the spring. So, they’re still too big for my left hand. Maybe I’ll be able to wear them the whole time this pregnancy?
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy usually.
Weekly Wisdom: I’m a personal kinda person. I loved having the “secret” of a pregnancy to share with the 3 people I loved the most. It’s definitely fun to spread the good news, but some of the specialness goes away once you tell everyone. (Perhaps it’s all the advice people start throwing at you?)
Milestones: baby is as big as a large peach!

Exercise: I just signed up for a 5K in October! I’ll be heading back to the fitness center for the first time in 5 weeks tomorrow!

About Kim

I am a sinner, miraculously saved by grace, living by faith, and pressing toward the mark of being more like Christ. I absolutely love being a stay-at-home mom! I'm also a caterer for a few weddings throughout the year, a baker, and a party planner. And I love to play in other people's kitchens as well as my own! My husband, Chris, just finished his studies for his MA degree in Pastoral Studies. He's a wonderful (and super smart!) daddy - and the most loving and supportive husband. My two beautiful daughters, Chloe and Kami, are the joys of our lives! We pray that they both would be greatly used of the Lord. Throughout their short time here on earth, we have learned so much about ourselves, our God, and the gratefulness we have towards our own parents, who raised us in the ways of God's Word. Our third unborn child is a blessing as well - even after its recent pre-diagnosis of Trisomy 18, or Edwards Syndrome. This blog has kinda turned into a little journal of sorts of our dark journey down this rather uncommon road. I stay busy cooking, cleaning, gardening, and raising the plants I killed back to life, and homeschooling. I blog when get the chance. :) We are always happy to have visitors, so please stop by anytime! Although, if you do give us a call first, we'll make sure to have some fresh cookies and sweet tea available when you arrive!
