About Me

My wonderful husband and I were married on August 14th, 2004 in Macon, Georgia.  I know, silly place to get married in August, the hottest month of the year, but we got married there nonetheless!  We went on our  honeymoon to Ceasar’s Poconos Resort (yep – the one with the champagne glass whirpool that you see in all the magazines! 🙂 ) and then moved everything to Parkersburg, West Virginia, where my husband was a youth pastor for three years to some of the most remarkable teens in the world!  We had a blast watching them grow and mature, and loved watching them become more like Christ every day.

While we were there, our beautiful daughter was born on October 19th, 2006.  Within a few hours of her birth, it became obvious that she was having severe troubles breathing.  She was rushed to a larger hospital in Charleston, WV, which was 80 miles from where I was.  The doctors told us that they weren’t sure if she would make it or not.  After 6 days of not being able to breathe on her own, and after literally thousands of people were praying for her, she tried to pull the tube out of her mouth, and began breathing on her own.  Two days later, she was on her way home, and life hasn’t stopped ever since! 🙂

After several months of searching what God had for us, we moved back down to Greenville, SC, in August of 2007, where we had been for our college years, and Chris began working on his M.A. degree in Pastoral Studies at Bob Jones University.  He also started a new job as a web strategist for the Worthwhile Company which is downtown Greenville.  I’m currently taking care of Chloe and enjoy catering for weddings and large dinner parties and showers. I teach piano and do a few Pampered Chef shows, too!

We bought this house, which we LOVE, and are excited about the ministering opportunities we’ve already had with our neighbors, and can’t wait to see what God has for us while we are here.

God gave us another little girl, Kami, who has just been a blast to have around. She loves to play with her big sister – they are “favorite friends” – and play games on her Daddy’s iPad.

Now, in 2012, Chris is finished with school, we’ve been blessed with 40 or so college kids to cook for, do laundry for, and hang out with. And we’ll wait to see what God has for us next somewhere in the great big beautiful world He has made for us! For now, our biggest challenge is dealing with our third unborn child. This little blessing has been pre diagnosed with a condition known as Trisomy 18, or Edwards Syndrome. It has a very small chance of living to term and an even smaller one of living outside the womb. This blog, which started as a cooking outlet for me, has quickly become a semi-support site for the small few mothers out there who are looking for others going through similar trisomy diagnoses and have made the decision to carry their babies to term.
